Once upon a moon some time ago I heard a saying that has stuck with me throught the years, “garbage in, garbage out”. The saying was told to me by a wise man who was sharing with me the importance of guarding one’s heart. He explained to me that the more trash I allowed to go through my heart, the more that would take root there. He advised that I choose with care the friends that I had, the music that I listened to, the TV that I chose to watch, and so on. As goofy as I thought he was at my young age, as time passed and I began to grow into a young adult, I realized that he spoke truth to my heart. The more that I chose to keep consistent garbage from entering my heart, the less of a direct impact it had on my life. I realized that negative friends sprouted growth to negativity in my own heart…that trashy music and TV brought forth garbage from own my lips and attitude. I realized that if I wanted positive growth in my life, from my heart, that I had to have “good in, so that good would come out”!

Christmas Firsts This Year

About

The Organic Gardens I love

This year for Christmas we experienced a “first”! Experiencing a “first” can only happen once, hence the name “first”, so needless to say, we were quite excited! As Christmas Eve drew near, chatter began about the possibility of snow for Christmas. Now, seeing as we live in Texas, the idea of snow at all is quite amusing! The idea of snow for Christmas is one that hasn’t been considered for some 25 years here according to area history. But, sure enough, this year north Texas experienced her first “White Christmas” this decade! The exciting news for our family is that we were blessed to experience our first “White Christmas” as well! A blizzard kicked into full gear on Christmas Eve, leaving behind an absolutely beautiful white landscape. Homes and streets alike were blanketed with the wonderful winter white. The kids were able to experience the feeling of fresh snow under their feet and the sweet sound of the snow crunch! Following our traditional gift time and family breakfast we were able to build our first real snowman! I guess then we were blessed to experience more than just one “first” this Christmas!
